Unleashing the Power of Organizing: Vía Educación’s Vibrant Journey with Public Narrative

Between March 7 and 8, 2025, Via Educación Team embarked on an inspiring adventure exploring the Public Narrative Framework in an energizing workshop based in Mexico. Delivered entirely in Spanish via Zoom, the session was hosted by Vía Educación—a proud affiliate of Leading Change Network (LCN)—with the dynamic support of Ignacio Ibarzábal as Lead Trainer and sponsorship from Fundación Coppel.

Over the course of two days, 30 leaders and alumni from the Líderes Coppel program (including some dedicated staff members) gathered from all corners of Mexico—Sinaloa, Puebla, Oaxaca, Aguascalientes, Mexico City, Michoacán, Chihuahua, Quintana Roo, and Baja California—with inspiring connections from Seattle and Edinburgh. The workshop was more than a training session—it was a melting pot of human qualities, where personal stories began to take shape through the art of Public Narrative.

One of the most memorable highlights was how participants shared, with vulnerability and courage, their heartfelt journeys, revealing the resilience and capacity to overcome adversity in fields as crucial as education, equity, public policy, and peacebuilding. Their experiences showcased just how much collective efforts can enrich and empower our communities when we listen, share, and grow together.

A standout moment for many was the enthusiastic discussion sparked by Marshall Ganz’s story—a living testament to how the practice of crafting a compelling Public Narrative can foster a profound sense of cohesion and belonging. Participants expressed how this practice made them feel more connected to one another as part of the Líderes Coppel community, uniting them around shared values and boosting their ability to drive the change they aspire to see in their respective environments.

This workshop reminded all of us that when passionate people come together, blending their diverse backgrounds and experiences, the outcome is nothing short of transformational. It’s about creating spaces where every voice matters, and every story adds to a larger, richer narrative that propels us all forward.
